Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about IP-FD.net

What is IP-FD.net?
IP-FD.net is a free, comprehensive IP information and networking tools platform. We provide detailed lookups for IP addresses, ASNs, and domains — powered by data from all 5 Regional Internet Registries (RIPE, APNIC, ARIN, LACNIC, AFRINIC).
Where does your data come from?
Our data is sourced directly from the five Regional Internet Registries (RIRs): RIPE NCC, APNIC, ARIN, LACNIC, and AFRINIC. We import their WHOIS databases daily and enrich them with geofeed data and BGP routing information.
How often is the data updated?
Our database is updated daily. The RIR data import runs every night at midnight UTC, followed by geofeed enrichment and BGP route collection.
Is IP-FD.net free to use?
Yes! IP-FD.net is 100% free with no paid plans, no hidden fees, and no premium gates. Anonymous users get 100 API requests per minute, and registered users with an API key get 500 requests per minute.
Do you have an API?
Yes, we offer a modern REST API with structured JSON output. Visit our API Documentation page at /docs for full details. You can query IP addresses, ASNs, DNS records, and more programmatically.
How do I get an API key?
Register for a free account at /register, then visit your Dashboard to generate an API key. Each account can create API keys with a rate limit of 500 requests per minute.
Why does my IP show the wrong location?
IP geolocation is based on data from the Regional Internet Registries and geofeed files. It may not always reflect your exact physical location. If you believe the geolocation is incorrect, please contact us via our Contact page and we'll investigate.
What networking tools do you offer?
We offer a comprehensive suite of tools including: DNS Checker, SPF/DMARC/MX validation, ASN Lookup, Subnet Calculator, Blacklist Checker, SSL Certificate Checker, Server Info detection, User Agent parser, Password Generator, and more.
Can I look up IPv6 addresses?
Absolutely! IP-FD.net has full native support for both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses across all tools and API endpoints.
How do I report incorrect data or abuse?
Please visit our Contact page at /contact and select the appropriate reason. We take data accuracy and abuse reports seriously and will respond as quickly as possible.
